The Fourth of January is my “celebrate life” day.
Life is too short. I celebrate and seize the day by doing something that I have
either been too scared or too busy to do.
I have celebrated life in years past by riding the infamous tree swing
on Jekyll Island, walking across the US 192 Melbourne Bridge, and going to hear
an old favorite band.
My first celebrate life day in The Gambia was quite
special. My site mate 8km to the
west has been inviting me to visit her for quite some time. For one reason or the other I have put
it off because I was nervous about riding my bike somewhere unfamiliar. I am thankful and glad I faced my fear
for we had a fantastic time together playing Scrabble, eating beef jerky,
drinking juice, dancing with her family, and talking about friends in our life
that were taken away all too soon.
The ride there and back was beautiful, easy, and quite enjoyable. It was a lovely day to be alive and
wonderful way to celebrate life indeed.
<3 I celebrate life every day and miss you everyday. I miss your vibrancy and love for everything! Miss you!
