35 years

My parents, Patricia Gail and David Michael, tied the knot on this date thirty-five years ago. Unbeknownst to us, coral and jade are associated with celebrating this particular wedding anniversary. I could not have planned it better myself as we celebrated together this past weekend relaxing along the beach, watching a launch, listening to missionaries from around the world (particularly Asia), spending the day at Sea World rocking out with the Doobie Brothers, and eating at Long Doggers, Bizzaros & Squid Lips.

I am thankful for who I get to call my Momma and my Daddy. I am thankful to have such a great example to look to for what it means to live out ones' marriage vows and "one another's" through thick and thin, when it is fun and when it doesn't come easy. I am thankful to live life and to laugh with you. Thank you for loving me enough to point out my sin, for encouraging me to boldly go after my dreams but to "measure twice and cut once," for teaching me the value of honesty and hard work. I love you both more than you'll ever know!

Seven days into Twenty-Seven

Woo-wee....Twenty-Six went out with a bang and Twenty-Seven is surely following suit!

To close out twenty-six there was a night launch, road tripping to Jekyll for sea turtle friend reunion/Ziggying/tree swinging/island treasure hunting, marathon running, hanging with Taj (the coolest dog I've ever met), and Indian River Lagoon Conferencing....whew!!

Onwards to twenty-seven...

My lovely (& very funny, indeed) Valentines straight from Nashville for a surprise Lagoon side lunch at Squid Lips.

Birthday dinner at Haru with two of my favorite gals, yummy sushi, and delicious dessert!

And to cap it all off... dinner, drinks, dancing, and shenanigans at Meg O'Malleys with awesome friends!

Crossing Bridges & Celebrating Life

It looks like crossing the Golden Gate & Brooklyn will have to be accomplished before turning thirty (gasp) instead of twenty-seven (which happens in twenty-five days, mind you)...

The US192/Melbourne Causeway proved to be a delightful alternative adventure. Especially with this fella along, christening his new Chacos in the chilly Atlantic.

January 4th is a Celebrate Life day to me. In 2008, a good friend of mine passed while I was away on my first ever solo road trip. Each year to celebrate his love of life and adventure, I do something exciting that I have been too afraid or preoccupied to do. A reminder that life is worth the living and my next breath is a gift. As the calendar would have it, January 4th is also the birthday of Todd's mother.

A great day, and way, of celebrating life, indeed.

Ode to Oh'leven

There were several hellos, friendships so new...

One day wonders with old friends, tried and true.

There were handsome new additions to both sides of the family crew.

Also a few goodbyes, sad it's true.

Road trips to Rome, Athens, and Jekyll too for cheering on the Blue, breaking in shoes, witnessing "I do's" and sea turtle views.

And oh so much fun while working at the Atlanta Zoo.

Ending with a move to the State of the Sun...

Oh, 2011~ you've been a fun one.
